Achieve a straighter smile discreetly with Invisalign® aligners
This discreet orthodontic technique uses a series of custom-made aligners to gradually move crooked, gappy, or crowded teeth to an improved position. As it is a less noticeable way to straighten teeth, it is suitable for adults or teenagers who may feel self-conscious about wearing very obvious braces.
Benefits of Invisalign
- Discreet – Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible when worn and designed to fit seamlessly into your daily life. Only you need to know you are having orthodontic treatment!
- Removable – the clear aligners are completely removable, allowing you to eat and drink whatever you choose. You can also brush your teeth as normal, easily maintaining your excellent oral hygiene.
- Comfortable – the custom-made aligners are made with comfort in mind, with no metal or sharp wires to irritate your skin. Accurate and precise scans promise a secure, comfortable fit.
- Effective – Invisalign is a gradual and gentle treatment, slowly moving the positions of your teeth. It can be used on a range of issues, including misalignment, gaps, and overcrowding.
- Innovative – Invisalign uses the latest digital technology in every step, from the 3D scanning used to capture accurate images of your teeth to the SmartTrack material engineered to straighten teeth with maximum comfort.
Treatment steps for Invisalign
Initial Consultation
If you are a suitable candidate for this adult-friendly Invisalign treatment, we take impressions and photos and collect other information about your teeth. We then use special 3D technology to create a personalised plan, which shows how your teeth will move and how they will look after treatment.
Gradual Straightening
When the aligners are ready, you will wear a different one every two weeks until the carefully controlled force shifts your teeth to a better position. You may feel minor discomfort when a new aligner is fitted but this is usually just a feeling of pressure and a good indicator that the treatment is working.
Treatment times will vary depending on your individual issue, but most cases are completed in 6-12 months. As the aligners only work while you are actually wearing them, we recommend they are kept in place for 22–24 hours per day.
Smile!
Once you have worn your last aligner, treatment is complete, and you can get ready to show off your new straight smile! We will give you a final retainer to keep your teeth in their new positions for the long term.
Aftercare for clear aligners
Following treatment, as with all orthodontic methods, you will need to wear a retainer to stop your teeth from moving back to their former position. Teeth have a habit of moving out of place, so you will need to wear retainers on a part-time basis (usually overnight) for as long as you wish your teeth to stay straight. You will be given fixed or removable retainers.
