Your new patient appointment steps
1. Welcome
When you arrive for your new patient appointment, we warmly welcome you and make sure you are feeling relaxed, or if there is anything we can do to help you feel at home. We invite you to wait in our comfortable waiting area, and may ask you to fill in some forms, if necessary.
2. Consultation
During your dedicated consultation in our state-of-the-art surgery, we take the time to truly listen and get to know you. We ask about your dental history, your overall oral and general health, and if you have any concerns. We always tailor your care to your unique needs to ensure you feel at ease.
3. Assessment
We carry out a comprehensive oral health examination and assessment, looking at your teeth, gums and all areas of your mouth. We may take digital x-rays if necessary, and also carry out an oral cancer screening. Your new patient assessment is longer than your subsequent dental check-ups as we get to know your oral health.
4. Evaluation
We explain our findings with you, and show you a detailed view of your mouth using digital x-rays, if these have been taken. We give you some tips for at-home oral hygiene care and when to book your next appointment. If you need any further treatment, we create your treatment plan for this.

How long will my first appointment last?
Please allow approximately 45 minutes for your initial new patient appointment at our practice. This allows us ample time for a comprehensive examination and to get to know you and your oral health better.
